About Margarita,

As you remember, I introduced Tequila in my previous article. So need to talk about margarita  which are the most famous cocktail made by Tequila. if you want let's refresh our knowledge of Margarita.

Classic Margarita prescription,

4 cl Tequila

2 cl Cointreau Liqueur ( Triple Sec )

1 cl Lime Juice

served in a classic champagne or in a martini glass, with a rimming salt

Margarita's story

There are many stories about Margarita, let's take a look at the best of them.

a-) Most known story : Barman of Hussong's Cantina Bar in Ensanada Mexico ,Don Carlos Orozco tried a new mix with Tequila, Cointreau liqueur and lime juice. And for this cocktail, gave the name of Margarita Henkel, the daughter of the German ambassador, who was the first person to try it.

b-) Second story : Albeit it is not believable, an american dancer Marjorie King has  allergy to all alcholic drinks except tequila. when she on vacation in Rosarita Mexico, she visits the Rancho Del Glora bar  and ordered a cocktail made with tequila, barman Danny Herrera prepare a cocktail with tequila, Cointreau liqueur and lime juice. and gave a name Margarita as Marjorie's Spanish counterpart.

c-) Third story : In the summer of 1942, very charming and attractive lady visited to Tommy's bar in Juarez Mexico. And she ordered Magnolia cocktail, but bartender Pancho Morales couldn't remember the recipe. He immediately mixed tequila, cointreau liqueur and lime juice and gave Margarita name for this mix

d-) Fourth story : According to this story, Margarita Sames, the famous person of American high society, is the person who makes margarita first. Unknown is it true or not, but it is indisputable she is the one who made  Margarita so famous. Margarita Sames was born in France and she often visit Mexico, with this way she familiar to cointreau liqueur and tequila. she offered margarita to her guests in every meetings. ( First Lady of america in that dates, Hilton hotels owner Mr. Conrad Hilton, John Wayne was her guests ) . even Conrad Hilton ordered to sell Margarita in his hotels.

Footnote :  On May 1, 1971, a Dallas restaurant owner, Mariano Martinez Jr. added margarita mix to Italian ice cream machine, and he become a inventor for Margarita frozen machine.
